Since 1969, Center for Community Solutions (CCS) has been creating safe and healthy communities with a core emphasis on the prevention and intervention of sexual assault and relationship violence. Helping over 30,000 adults and children each year, CCS has stood as an ongoing source of support for San Diego families. With a vision dedicated to “helping all people live full, free, expressive and empowered lives in a safe, vibrant, healthy and peaceful community”, CCS stands as a pillar of the San Diego community and a staunch defender of sexual and relationship violence victims.

As a non-profit organization, CCS provides legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and elder abuse. CCS’s legal clinics can assist with a wide range of issues, from temporary and permanent restraining orders to custody issues to confidential name changes. The victim’s personal and familial safety is of the utmost importance to CCS, and those in charge of the legal services will work tirelessly to achieve justice in the courts. All services are available in both English and Spanish by attorneys and paralegals who are experienced domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse victim specialists. CCS also operates the only rape crisis center in the city, along with a county wide 24-hour bilingual crisis center.

In addition to CCS’s legal services, counseling by therapists and graduate interns is available for individuals, couples, children and teens, families and victims of crime. A key component of CCS programs is the utilization of education as a tool to break the cycle of violence and to prevent it before it happens. The main goal of these programs is to empower participants with the skills and tools they need to prevent violence in their relationships and communities. Although fees are on an income-based sliding scale, nobody is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. CCS represents the highest level of community service, exemplified by their wide range of legal services, counseling services and community leadership. CCS is dedicated to serving all those in the San Diego community, regardless of their background.
